London

London is a city in and the county seat of Madison County, Ohio, United States. Located about 25 miles (40 km) southwest of the Ohio capital of Columbus, London was established in 1811 to serve as the county seat. The population was 10,279 at the 2020 census. The ZIP code is 43140.


Full of quaint shops and businesses, London’s wide, tree-lined streets and beautifully maintained Victorian homes send you back in time. Great, locally-owned restaurants and shops include Ronetti’s, Phat Daddy’s Pizza and Mabe’s Clothing and Athletic. London celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2011 and is still a great representation of small-town America. The Rib and Jazz Fest, Strawberry Festival and Gallery on High are some of the great activities this community has to offer.

London, Madison County’s seat and largest community, was established in 1811 by Patrick McLene on land owned by John Murfin.

The county courthouse in downtown London was built in 1890. The Second Empire- architectural style courthouse features a prominent clock tower, mansard roof and arched windows.

Today, London is home to over 10,000 residents and has become an attractive community serving a very large region.
