Mt. Sterling, sits at the southern tip of Madison County. Located along the iconic 3C Highway, Ohio travelers pass through this quaint town on their way to Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland. Just six miles south, Deer Creek State Park is a great place to hold a business meeting or take the family for a weekend away. Park visitors can bike downtown and stop at the iconic Dairy Freeze which has been a staple in the community since 1956.
Mt. Sterling was one of the earliest settlements in Madison County. James and William Hewey, and David Martin first settled on the banks of Deer Creek in 1797, five years before Ohio became a state. Years later, John Smith purchased the land where the village now stands and named it after his hometown of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
